2021 CONFERENCE FOR COACHES
On March 6, 2021 The Rape Foundation’s Men’s Leadership Council (“MLC”) hosted our fifth annual Conference for Coaches virtually, “Transformational Coaching in these Unprecedented Times.”
The conference program focused on meeting the unique challenges of coaching during the extraordinary and unprecedented times created by the impacts of the pandemic. The conference provided coaches with effective strategies and tools for: (1) sustaining relationships and teamwork when “social distancing” is required; (2) nurturing connection and a sense of belonging; (3) fostering empathy and character development; (4) building team values and concern for fellow athletes; and (5) empowering youth to successfully navigate life’s challenges. STERLING K. BROWN, COACH STEVE KERR and COACH DOC RIVERS shared personal experiences illustrating how their coaches had impacted their lives. Our partners and featured trainers were JOE EHRMANN and JODY REDMAN, co-founders of INSIDEOUT INITIATIVE. Over 700 coaches from schools throughout California registered for this virtual event. Conference sponsors included UCLA Health, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Dodgers, The Angell Foundation, Positive Coaching Alliance, CIF State, CIF City Section, CIF Southern Section and LA84.
The Rape Foundation’s MLC sponsors educational initiatives for boys and men that help build character and foster social responsibility.
