The Rape Foundation Men’s Leadership Council
The Rape Foundation Men’s Leadership Council was started by a group of men who felt that a passionate male voice was needed in the work being done to prevent rape and other forms of sexual violence. Council members come from a broad range of professions in our community and bring expertise from many different fields to this important work. As concerned fathers, brothers, husbands, partners, and sons, we seek to make a lasting impact on our community and beyond.
We accomplish these goals by:
- Education – Sponsoring programs for men that increase their knowledge about all forms of sexual violence and enlist their participation in prevention efforts.
- Communication – Creating and disseminating effective messages and media aimed at helping men become part of a unified voice against sexual violence and abuse.
- Advocacy – Working for reforms that reduce the prevalence of sexual violence.
- Fundraising – Supporting the nationally acclaimed programs of the Rape Treatment Center and Stuart House at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center.
